Been messing around with my old Medivh model. I'm currently trying to do a remake of him. What do you guys think so far? Should I finish him off? Might redo some more of my old models, since they look really bad in my opinion. And I've become better.
Pretty nice, but IMO he's to much broadarmed. After all he was a wizard, not a warrior or even battlemage. He was spending much of his time on reading books, casting some spells, making contact with orcs in Draenor etc., I think he even wouldn't eat and sleep too much. Even his coma in youth wouldn't let him to build such musculature. So he should be slimer I think, I always immagined him as a skinny, wiry guy. Of course your immagination could be another, this was just my personal thoughts about this.
I pretty much got inspired by some official art from Blizzard: eu.blizzard.com/static/_images… Here he looks rather, I wouldn't say strong, but he got muscles. But yeah the muscles on my rendition are too big. I used Deathwing's human form as a base model, so he has some guns. I'll make them smaller for sure.
Yeah, this art is great, I love Samwise's style of drawing. And I agree, Medivh shouldn't be anemic, some muscles are always good. But it's good that you are planning to make him thinner. And what do you think about make his face more hmm... I don't know how exactly say that in english. I mean that his face could have more stubborn look (you know, angry thin mouth etc.), his cheekbones could be a little more outlined, cheeks (this from flesh) more lean (?) and nose a little big longer. Anyway, this is still very nice. I like the 'coroded' texture of the shoulderpads, hood's shape, beard and feathers, and the shadow on face from the hood is also very well thought. Ugh, I must learn the anothomy names in english. Anyway, I am watching you from a few years until I saw your models on Warcraft Underground. And I think that your works are better with every new model, I'm waiting for redones all of your old models and for some new. Especially when you will got the tools and possiblities from WoD models.
